These stories take place on ranches and in small towns from Texas to Alaska. The one element that must be present is cowboys. These are fast paced and heartwarming . They are full of support characters like family and friends who round out the book. These heroes are strong and not about to be tamed. The heroines they fall for match them in every way. They are headstrong and confident women who aren't afraid to tangle with a cowboy.
Make your reader think she's in the Lone Star State or have her planning her next vacation for the mountains of Colorado. But whether your ranch is in Texas, Wyoming, Colorado or Alaska make sure its full of those yummy cowboys we all love. The level of sensuality should fit the story.

Wayback, Texas
...where a cowboy falls in love every 8 seconds
This brand new series is currently open for submissions in the Yellow Rose line.
The main attraction in the small town of Wayback is the Saturday night rodeo, held just outside of town from March through November. Amateurs and semi-pros come from all over to and try their hand each week. Events include bronc-busting, calf roping, barrell racing and of course that event of all events - bull riding.
Each story should involve a cowboy or someone else connected to the rodeo, and of course, a feisty heroine.
There's a honky-tonk in town called The Blue Bug Saloon, along with a diner, library, the small Wayback Central School (K-12), courthouse, beauty shop, small grocery, a church or two, and the town square. What makes Wayback unique is that all these places will be established by authors through their stories! Our editors will update this list with business names as stories come out.
Stories should be 30K or under.
All stories need to follow the formula for this small west-Texas town using the outline on this page. The first few stories will set the tone and feel for the rest. Our editors will keep a close watch on the stories to make sure they work for what we want in this town. The best thing a writer can do is read the stories that are already released to get a feel for the series.
If you want a chance not only at being part of a great series but also at helping create our town, then open your hearts to the rodeo and submit to queryus@thewildrosepress.com with the subject line " Submission for Wayback Texas series "
