"Is this far enough?"

"No. Let's go to Europe."

"Europe?" Joe's laugh soothed her. "I've been overseas. I don't want to go back any time soon."

"Joe, what day is it?"

"No, the date."

"It's June 24th. Why?"

"June 24th. I'm going to get married next Saturday. On July 1st."

"That's a girl for you. I haven't even proposed." Joe pushed her hair back again, grinned, and gave her a light kiss. "But, I'll marry you then if you want me to."

Christina pulled his face close and kissed him. He returned the kiss and his mouth tasted and caressed hers, inside and out. She felt a tightening in her stomach and warmth that engulfed every inch of her like a flame. She felt as if she'd burst into the sky like fireworks.

"Oh," she whispered afterwards.

Joe hugged her. The smell of soap mixed with his male scent filled her senses. He would help her. He'd marry her, and her life would be so different...

"Help me, Joe."

"What's the matter? What do you want me to do?"

"Make me happy."

"Aren't I doing that now?"

"Forever. I want to feel like this forever."

His triumphant laugh sounded through the park and the starry night. "I do, too, mi amor."
